MATCH-UP (Card Game)

Mesmerising
Academic
Testing
Compulsive
High-Quality

Unforgettable
Perfection

"A great way to learn those boring verbs."

The exact verbs for each class are available in 2 packs.

Forms 1 and 2 are in the junior pack.
Forms 3 and 4 are in the senior pack.

NOTE: Children from higher forms who need to revise the verbs should buy both packs.

Throughout the game, children are continually confronted with the complete range of verbs that they have chosen to play with. They read one when it is laid down and then read the others (up to 12 depending on the chosen game) that are already laid down. This process is continually repeated every time a player has a go!

When a match-up is achieved, all of the players are confronted with it. The learning process is strengthened through the winning or losing feelings of emotion.

Concentration peaks are much higher than when a child is simply learning the verbs from a list.

The positive feelings brought on through playing a game are connected to the learning of verbs. In no way can these positive feelings be the result of being asked to sit alone and learn a long list of verbs by heart.

The game is addictive and children want to play repeatedly, therefore it reinforces the learning process.

In test children who had no knowledge of various verbs, the amount learned after only one game was considerable.

The six variations of Match-Up entice most children to want to play them all. The repeat effect of the same verbs used (but played in a different way) can only be advantageous.

MONKEY ENGLISH (Board Game)

This game has been especially created for the Primary School child interested in English, as well as for the young beginner who has understandable apprehensions about learning a "foreign" language.

The board has been designed to attract the attention of the children and to simplify the rules of the game.

Moving with the aid of the dice from square to square the young players are faced with various tasks:
Banana cards require basic vocabulary.
Activity cards give the players funny situations to act out.
The cards are written in English and German and vocabulary is repeated in different ways to encourage the learning process.

The game is pure fun from the first move to the last.

THE JUNIOR GREAT WORD HUNT (Board Game)

A game designed to help Primary school children learn basic vocabulary in an exciting race around the cities of England.

The vocabulary provided is exactly what the various school levels require.

The amount of vocabulary used is determined by the players themselves and can be looked at prior to starting the game, therefore strengthening the learning process.

Constant repetition of vocabulary during the game intensifies the speed of the learning process.

This game is a simplified version of The Great Word Hunt, and when children progress to Secondary schooling they can start to play the normal version, without having to buy anything extra. Real value for money!

THE GREAT WORD HUNT (Board Game)

"Hunt the vocabulary and hunt your opposition!"

A game for 2 to 6 players which can last from 30 minutes to 3 or more hours.

Vocabulary learned in the traditional way can be a depressing and generally demotivating experience.

The aim of The Great Word Hunt is to combat this trend with an extremely captivating, exciting and funny game.

The vocabulary provided is exactly what the various school levels require.

The elements of: making money, bankrupting players - kidnapping players - bribing - travelling - and collecting vocabulary in order to win, detract from the plain learning that takes place throughout the game.

The amount of vocabulary used is determined by the players themselves and can be looked at prior to starting the game, therefore strengthening the learning process.

Constant repetition of vocabulary during the game intensifies the speed of the learning process.

KING TENSE CHALLENGE (Card Game)

"Do you want to be the king for the day?"

This game gives a complete break-down of the tenses for those who need an intensive training. The main game is a slower, longer-lasting game.

Alternatively, follow the instructions for the faster moving challenge. In both versions, the jokers are there to help you.

The King Tense Challenge is available in 2 editions - for the first 4 school years.

VERBERY (Card Game)

"When playing, becomes learning, by playing!"

Using a playing technique similar to Rummy, English verbs are collected as well as poached from other players!

The use of cunning tricks makes this game very exciting.

Verbery is available in two editions, basic and advanced.

HAPPY TENSE FAMILY (Card Game)

"Are the tenses making you tense?
Play this game and they'll make sense!"

A game designed to help children with the set up of the various English tenses. With 11 variations, this game has proven to be very popular with test children.

The inclusion of "Shouting Teacher Cards" and "Grade A Cards" add to the general fun.

Editions for four classes are available.

WHIZZ KID (Board Game)

"Who's going to be the "Whizz Kid" today?"

The learning intensity of Whizz Kid, i.e. Complete grammar and the verbs, is the reason why the fun element has been devised at such a high level

To cope with the full scope of the grammar and verbs, children are offered a game with a high element of luck and chance.

Attention has been taken to use the precise grammar and verbs needed for the various school levels.
The game board need only be bought once, the cards are then bought for each class.

NOTE: Children from higher forms who need to revise the verbs should buy both packs.

Children learn the basic rules of English grammar through repeated playing, especially if they are prompted to look at the explanation sheet whenever they don't understand why an answer was wrong.

The children have to ask the questions and have to provide the correct answers throughout the game. Normally only a teacher does this task, it is therefore a new situation for the children and one which reinforces and quickens the pace of learning. (all children like to play teacher).

What is generally considered extremely boring material (grammar and verbs) suddenly becomes the material for an exciting game. Test children were more open to learning at school after playing a game, out of the desire to win the next game.

Additional Feature
The counters are to be in the shape of the letters: E N G L I S H for this version. Other languages follow this pattern.

JUNIOR WHIZZ KID (Board Game)

"Who's going to be the "Whizz Kid" today?"

This Junior version uses basic vocabulary and funny activities instead of verb and grammar questions.
A great game to introduce first time learners to the fun of a language.
